New liner tensioning device – Replacement of wear parts in a matter of seconds

As liners in mud- or process pumps are wear parts, they must be replaced from time to time. For faster and simpler replacement of the liners, SCHÄFER & URBACH has developed an innovative, fully hydraulic tensioning device.

For mud pumps manufactured by:

Technical description

Hydraulic pressure of 210 bar is generated via a quick lock coupling. The pressure pre-stresses the expansion bolts at the piston ring surface until the liner can be inserted and the tension ring can be bolted manually. After the pressure has been released, the expansion bolts pull the liner tight against the pump body via the tension ring.

For removing the liner a hydraulic pressure of 235 bar is needed in order to release the tension ring and the nuts so much that they can be removed and the liner be pulled out.

Advantages

So far unattained tensioning and release times of just a few minutes
Simple construction comprising only very few components
Fatigue-resisting tensioning, due to absence of springs
