Descaling systems for forged and shaped parts
Example of a descaler used in a wheel rolling mill for removing scale from forged ingots
The descaling of 1,200 °C hot forged ingots required the development of a customized descaling cabin. Inside the cabin the surfaces of the ingots are descaled fully automatically. Both the circumferential surface and the front sides are descaled. The below shown plant achieves the optimal descaling result at 325 bar. In order to avoid hydraulic shocks and evacuate the air, prior to the descaling operation the high pressure lines are supplied with water at low pressure. The system is electrically controlled by means of pressure switches.|
