Descaling system for plates
Example of a descaler used for primary scale removal in a plate mill
Material grades susceptive to the formation of difficult-to-remove primary scale (sticky scale) require high impact values for the descaling operation. A high-pressure pump operating at a pressure of 320 bar attains an impact value of 2.67 N/mm2. As the slab thickness varies between 150 mm and 900 mm the upper spray header must be hydraulically adjustable.
